Everest Pikey Peak Trek is the newly opened trekking destination near the lower Khumbu region. Pikey Peak Trekking is the best alternative to overcrowded trekking around the Everest Region. The trail follows the less crowded area with beautiful forest and high ridges enjoying the panoramic Himalayan scenery including Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, Manaslu, Annapurna and many other snow covered peaks, mountain glaciers, green pine and rhododendron forests, highly culture influenced villages, holy monasteries, prayer walls and Holy lake dukunda. You can see breathtaking sunrise and sunset views from the top of this peak.

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)
    We will welcome you at the airport and drop you to the hotel.
  • Day 2 Drive from Kathmandu to Dhap (2900m)
    Today you will drive from Kathmandu to Dhap by Bus for 8-9 hours passing through rhododendron forest. You will explore Dhap town in the evening.
  • Day 3 Trek from Dhap to Jhapre (2930m)
    Today, you'll start the easy trek for about 5 hours to Jhapre village.The trail follows a road under construction for the first couple of hours perched above a deep valley with nice views of Everest and Numbur Himal. We will visit local Monastery.
  • Day 4 Trek from Jhapre to Pikey Peak (3600m)
    We will wake up in the early morning to view the first golden rays of the sun falling on the silver lining of snow-capped mountains. Relishing the view, we will start walking uphill to Bhulbule. The trail climbs through the Rhododendron forest coming to Yak pasture. Cross the long Mane wall and climb further to Pikey peak base camp.
  • Day 5 Trek from Pikey Peak to Junbeshi (2390m)
    Climb along the rocky ridge to the Pikey peak (4,065 m). The top unveils wide range of the snow peaks from Dhaulagiri in the west till Kanchanjunga in the west. View of Mt Everest, Thamsherku, Numbur Himal, Kangtega is the highlight. From the apex climb down to Lamjura pass and further to Junbesi.
  • Day 6 Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu (2380m)
    Today we will follow the descending dusty trail along the Junbesi Khola until reaching a steel suspension bridge. On crossing the bridge we will reach Beni Ghat. We will continue our walk along the trail filled with scenic pleasures before reaching Phaplu. We can explore the area as we bid farewell to the Rolwaling region.
  • Day 7 Drive back to Kathmandu(1400m)
    Today you will drive back to Kathmandu by jeep for 9/10 hours.
  • Day 8 Departure
    Today we will drop you to the airport and wave you goodbye.

Do I need experience for pikey Pikey Peak Trekking?

Pikey Peak Trekking is suitable for keen trekkers/walkers who are able to walk around 4 or 5 hours in a day, with a lightweight daypack. For this trekking – yes, you need to have experience in high altitude – somehow about 3000 meters above sea level.

What kind of accommodation can I expect on Jiri to pikey peak lodge Trek?

We provide you tourist standard accommodation in Kathmandu. And during the trekking routes, you will have a homestay accommodation and tent accommodation along the routes. We recommend you to take your own sleeping bags if you have one with you otherwise, you may rent it while you are in Kathmandu.

What opportunities will I have for a shower along Pikey Peak Trekking?

Guest house trekking all the lodges they have a shower which you can get it somewhere paying and somewhere without paying however if you are in camping trekking – we provide you hot water bucket then you will take a bucket shower.

Can I charge my digital camera or other batteries on my trip?

As a lodge trek there are more chances to charge the battery. We recommend you bring an extra pair for in case. Remember to bring your adapters!

Who will carry my luggage on Phaplu to Pikey Peak Trek?

We provide porters to transfer your luggage. As we are a responsible trekking tour operator agency, our every porter carry maximum 25 kilo of your backpack which means 2 guests (12.5 kg luggage of each guest): 1 porter basis.
